Best Trash is not really recycling

There was a story several years ago in the Kingwood Observer Newspaper that exposed this issue. Everything was going into the landfill.

It's a terrible shame because the recycling processes have made huge strides over the years.

It doesn't surprise me since it isn't even sorted. I bring paper, cardboard, and glass to the recycling center. Plastic bags to the grocery store and Amazon bags to Kohl's. Other plastic I reuse or it goes in the regular trash. I try to limit my plastic but it can't be avoided. I have my doubts that non plastics are really being recycled either...too many don't recycle correctly. Cardboards is always in with the newspaper/magazines.

@Kaa054 : I don't know about if it still happens now but the grocery stores used to have the sackers take the plastic bags from the bins and go put in the regular trash in the 1990s.

I am sure most of you are aware but I wasn't. BEST TRASH does not really recycle. For all the years we have been in Kingwood and paid Best Trash we have spent the extra time making sure all our plastic, cans, glass and cardboard went into the recycle bin, they provided. Thinking we were doing our part. I recently lost a Christmas gift that we thought went out in recycle. We followed the signal and it led us to the trash dump. There we learned that Best trash doesn't do recycle, the second truck that comes around to pickup recycle just dumps it in the land fill. Why bother to provide a separate bin and ask us to recycle if it isn't being recycled. I wonder if our HOA is aware and if Best Trash is charging extra for the second truck that supposedly handles recycle. Maybe we should be entitled to a refund for recycling that isn't being recycled.

Lugeruser : From what I've seen, not all -- but the vast majority of recycling isn't really recycling, Often times, materials are simply dumped or shipped to another jurisdiction or country where they're dumped.

I always felt suspicious about the truck. All went there unclassified, mixed up, and then crushed and pressed inside the truck dumpster. I wonder what happens with the dumpsters in the Metro parking area on weekends.

PS: It would be fantastic to follow the signal of the taxes too.

The City of Houston doesn't recycle trash either. Recycling trash is a scam to make everyone feel good. Climate Change is a scam also. The Globalist left don't care about Humanity.

Lugeruser : I noticed this morning only 1 truck came down my street and they collected stuff out of trash cans and the red recycle bins.

Lugeruser - it's a different company that does recycle always has been since we've been here if you look at the container it has a different name
