Both DH and I like them. We buy extra from KTS every Christmas season and freeze them to enjoy throughout the year. KTS is the best!

We enjoy shopping at Mi Tienda. Never had a problem at all.

I would call KWTS, as I would be surprised if they are not selling the tamales, this year. 281-973-1098 Might be a cell, so you can try to text your question, too. Colmena Bakery in New Caney has made good tamales; you might call and ask if they are making them for the holidays, too. There is also a taco shop next door, and you can go try their tamales, before you order, too. 22513 Community Drive ( across the street from the small shopping center with Fat Boy's Diner, AABY Thrift Shop, and the Hardware Store there)

Only problem with the trips to Mi Tienda is getting past the pastry cases at the front door. Spouse tries to tell me there is no law requiring me to stop there, but I do not believe.
(And yes, I am a wuss and would not go there or the Fiesta in the next exit after the sun goes down.)

Drive a bit further and stop at El Bolillo; one of the Best Mexican Bakeries anywhere! They have beautiful holiday cookies, tres leches, churros, and So many panitos ( Mexican pastries, cakes, etc),chocoflan cake, love their apple and calabasa empanadas, too. They make tortillas and breads in house, too. We make a trip before Christmas each year, to the one on Airline. They sell Tamales, too!! 2517 Airline Drive; plenty of easy parking.

My favorite hot tamales since I was a kid are the Hormel tamales out of the can. My blood pressure is spiking just thinking about them. ❤️

Txbutterfly : HEB gets them from Mi Tienda. They take them out of the MT package and put them in an HEB package. Seen them do this, that's how I know.
They are essentially the same so.🤷🏽‍♂️

Are those the ones with the olive in each tamale. Ate them in Canada and Montana, before I learned as an adult what a real tamale is.
And the ones from the trunk of the ten year old car parked at the abandoned gas station are better than any of the store-bought ones.
(Used to be a kid and his grandma parked a van in the parking lot of one of the Kroger stores. Health dept folks would run them off about every other month. Meanwhile the employees from Kroger were buying half of her tamales, even the deli girls who were making the ones for the store.)

Txbutterfly:I phoned Freddies in Porter. Their price is $26/dozen plus tax which is more than Kingwood Taco Shop. I don't know how they compare in size or quality.

Yeah that size thing has to be considered if you are just eating then at home and not gifting them.

NeenaC0629 : We had Granny's 2 doz pork and beef tamales yesterday for a lunch I was doing for 8. Soon as we got them home, put in the steamer. Omg, sooooo good.
