But when you are child in Canada and Montana, Tamales are an exotic food and only found in cans. (Shrimp used to come in a can the size of a tuna can in those days too.) Now all my tamales come from the trunk of a Nissan Altima parked at the abandoned gas station on the edge of town. Sometimes from the church parking lot, which is probably the same elderly grandmas.

Curious if you considered making your own? It takes a full day but it can be very much worth it. Season to your own taste and there are many helpful videos on YouTube. We make our own, freeze some and share some with our kids.
