If you were smart you began planning for a 50% reduction the market years ago. We started selling high two years go. 7 figures now safely tucked away. Trying to decide if we should stick it under mattress. With interest rates so low why not🤬.

Ruger5 : Might have stayed in a bit longer. Safe play sure but a bit early. 4951

kingwooddiscgolf : Oh you have a point. Still plenty remains to play with. At our age we shouldn't have as much in as we do, cash reserves are better than we ever expected to be. A great run 35 years of steady investing has been.

Ruger5 : Well done. 4951

kingwooddiscgolf : It's all DH. I used to fight the frugalness, living below our means, sometimes saving more than we spent in a year(the bonuses were a wonderful plus) but now - hell, I could write a book on how to live below your means. My DH was living the Ramsey way before Ramsey wrote his first book. My dh was the first Ramsey ha ha

Texasdaughter : CCIV is a SPAC (special-purpose acquisition company), which is pretty similar to an IPO. An IPO is just when a company decides to sell off part of their company and they sell it to the public (on the stock market). A SPAC is kind of like the reverse. It's when an entity raises a bunch of money and then goes a merges with a business. Once that happens, the SPAC ceases to exist. I'm stealing this, but a good explanation is: "You can think of it like: an IPO is basically a company looking for money, while a SPAC is money looking for a company," That said, before the SPAC merges with a company, you can buy shares before even knowing what they are going to buy. You are basically buying into the fact that whoever is running the SPAC is a smart guy (or lady!) and will make a really good decision. CCIV is a SPAC that has been heavily rumored to be involved with Lucid who is an upstart luxury election vehicle company. The CEO to Lucid was the chief engineer for the Tesla Model S. Anyway, nothing is confirmed yet but lots of people are reporting CCIV is going to merge with Lucid and the market is starting to response. It' s up ~10% today and ~7% since I posted an hour ago. And always remember, markets are emotional and EVs are one of the hottest things going right now. Tesla made a lots of people millionaires. This might be looked at as the next best thing.

petronoluem : Yes thank you for this! I had no idea this was an option. I dabble very little in the stock market but only thru the cashapp(I know it's probably laughable but hey I've made $25!) 4951

TexasTrader : I did that earlier with GameStop.

Sold at 26 then slowly rocked myself the rest of the day.

Not to mention the 20c 1/21 options I exited last week because the capital was being taken over. I'm riding this one out. 4951
