Spring KDC Meetup
Peeps, our last official get together was April 2023, and it's been a minute.
I always had luck with the weather when our bi-annual meetups were held the first Saturday in November and the first Saturday in April from 2019-2023 at Back Pew.
Let's relight that fire.
We can do Back Pew again as it is the most family/pet friendly, but I want to ask you all for options that are similar where we can go that is close proximity.
If there is a place where alcohol is involved, I will pay for the first $100 of it for the group. If it is another place, I will find a way to make sure the first $100 is paid for.
Back Pew is great for the acreage and kids burning energy, but unfortunately, you can't bring lasagna, or your finest dress. Kinda just not the place for that. Y'all please assist with *****ing at them for this rule (bringing your own food).
The goals of the meetup are:
- Family and chitlins welcome
- Alcohol doesn't have to be involved
- Supporting local business is a plus
- If it's a place where we can bring potluck stuff
We could "take over" a local restaurant? I dunno. Y'all spill the ideas, but please do not message me wanting to take over what we should do, or saying what we should do. Keep it all on this thread.
The date is April 4th.
Go.

Not sure about the BYOF part, but Megaton has the patio area outside and also pool and games inside, and is mostly family friendly, especially during the day. Lake Houston Brewery is mostly outside and has a playground. They are also a restaurant, so BYO would not be an option. Duessen Park would have the play area, BYOF and drink option but it is far for some people.

Los Cucos has the back room and patio area, an affordable menu and a full bar. Back in the day, we used to have meet ups there, at Chuys and a few other restaurants, so they can be options. They became family events when we started holding them at Back Pew. Swamp Donkeys has a kid-area and is BYOB. Not sure about outside food but I've seen people bring desserts and such, so it might be possible.

Oh this sounds like fun! Hopefully I will be able to attend. Not sure what my schedule will be like then, but I will definitely come if I can!
Hoping my schedule allow me to make it not a big fan of los Cucos because it's not as comfortable inside like that especially with the little kids better for them to have some outdoor room , and more relaxing for all. I like the idea of the brew pubs yall mentioned, where we can bring snacks and pick up food to share. thanks for bringing this up, Brat!
