Miro2019 : Here's a quick forecast for Dallas. North Texas is in for an active weather pattern through the rest of the week. After a cold start to the day in the 20s, light south winds and some sun help us climb back to the mid 50s this afternoon. Increasing clouds are expected ahead of our next disturbance. A few showers will be possible late tonight, with higher coverage for Wednesday. Scattered showers are possible especially from DFW south and east. By the end of the work week, our next cold front not only returns rain but helps Arctic air invade for the weekend. The question is, when does the arctic air get to North Texas. Rain is expected through early Friday afternoon, with a transition over to freezing rain and sleet Friday eve/night as temperatures drop. A wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet, and/or snow is expected through Saturday/Saturday night. Temperatures will remain below freezing through this time period (in the 20s). We dry out by Sunday afternoon but remain very cold. Highs will likely be below freezing for most, in the low 30s. Icy roads are expected Sunday and any wet roads will re-freeze Sunday night into Monday morning. We finally climb above freezing Monday afternoon, in the upper 30s to 40 degrees.

Thanks, have to hope for the best and that roads get cleared by Sunday afternoon. We'll keep an eye on weather and road updates as it gets closer to the weekend. I don't want to wait another 10 months for a new appointment if it can possibly be avoided.

I heard there are going to be about 25 drops off the coast of California tomorrow to sample the system and feed the models. Hopefully we will get a better handle on this system with that data - but the models usually tend to underperform with the shallow cold air in SE Texas. Hope for the best but preparing for some issues!
