I stumbled by there 2 weeks ago to pick up some books for my little free library. Turns out after 42 years at that location, they are having to move. The owner of the building will not do any repairs, the AC is out of date and out of order and the rent is sky high. So the big huge mess out front is the leftovers I guess. It's a substantial revenue for the Family Time Crisis center. Yes, it's dirty and yes, TONS of people illegally dump there, but the store supports a local center that is needed. It suffered a lot once Ms. Brenda retired about 5 or 6 years ago. She ran it for years. She is a wonderful lady. They are still looking for a new location. I suspect the new shop will be in a better location and will be nicer/cleaner. It's so much better to donate to this local charity versus Goodwill. Here's the update on facebook: Our Porter location is officially closed! But don't worry, we will be reopening shortly. FamilyTime Thrift Shop is in the process of moving into a new location. Once we are ready to open at our new location we will be making an announcement via social media and our main website. A list of our pages can be found here: linktr.ee/Familytime _ccc...
