I wish I could say that's shocking but I've had similar experiences. At least she didn't get you.
They don't! And I see it at schools walking the kids home also. It's sad more people either are not knowledgeable or don't care.
Do you slow down for people at crosswalks? When I'm driving, I always slow down and look to give bikers/walkers the right of way on the many greenbelt crosswalks we have in kingwood. As a runner, I've noticed most drivers do the same, I'll often be waiting for a car to pass and they will flash their lights to give me the right of way or just stop completely to let me pass, I always give a big smile and a wave of the peace sign to say thanks. But this morning while crossing in woodland hills, I swear a lady actually sped up when I was crossing to try to get through the intersection first, and came pretty close to hitting me. If you are that person,.... I hope you stub your toe really badly today.
eighteen : Im issuing you some toe stubbing juju today then.
Yep, I do. I recently saw a man on KW Drive that was jogging and nearly got hit, and I was very concerned for him. My son rides his bike to school, and I can't help but worry about those people that speed up. Stubbing their toes is one thing, but I would hope for more toe cramps for them instead.
ZMAN : No, I usually speed up.
It is the way things Should go, but with so many people More interested in their cell content, or themselves, bike riders and walkers can Never assume a driver will yield to them.
Here's a question though. At the majority of the trails intersections throughout KW, those on the trails are supposed to stop first before proceeding or are the words STOP painted on the pavement bogus? I know there are no STOP signs at any of the trails intersections that I have seen. I generally slow down when approaching such cross walks because 9 out of 10 times and if the STOP is supposed to be legit, kids usually don't stop. As such I approach with caution and often yield.
