Sincere concern: Why does a family community this size not have

There used to be one? It opened in 2007, and was built on leased land by AABY, the animal rescue group that own the Thrift Shop, now located in New Caney, on Community Drive. It was located on Russel-Palmer Drive. Not sure what came of that dog park?

At one time there was a dog park off of northpark. As I recall, there were very few volunteers to keep it up and the "owner" decided to let the lease expire on the property

The one off Russell palmer became ragged and run down and it was very small.
There are two in Atascocita, the one off woodland hills near madera is beautiful. The one at duessen park is nice but just so dang far. Whiskey and I go on sat and sun morning early before traffic gets nuts. He doesn't like to ride 😞

Russell Palmer dump is closed, others are not local. Bush park in cinco ranch has good example and, no, not on leash. Thanks for your interest.

dlruggles : The issue is that someone owns the land that would be carved out, and someone would have to convince the local vets and animal hospitals to put up the money. There's also permits, insurance construction of some kind to provide benches and fencing. That's a huge ask with other people's money and property. Also likely why there's not something in place already. The places TXButterfly mentioned (which you said are too far for you) are county or states funded and have been planned and worked into the yearly operating budgets. It's much more complicated than pointing at empty acreage and putting up a sign that says Dog Park.

dlruggles : lol, it's not a farm, they just live there and there are way more soccer fields than frisbee golf space at River Grove, sorry I was being less than serious. There is really not an abundance of free space remaining in Kingwood. A good spot might be across Woodland Hills from Kingwood Park HS where the subdivision was cancelled due to flooding issues.

sweetie : I saw where you were fixin' things up over there. Are you already getting ready for next year's NFL draft party? It should be a real blow out with the Cowboys owning the first pick in the draft.

asasolid2r : So why don't we just have a dog "meet up" there, and let the dogs run and have fun off leash. As long as the owners all agree to pick up after the dogs, who would complain? It wouldn't be an official dog park, but it could work for exercise and socialization. Maybe even designate a certain time of day that most people know to come when others would be there.
