Shout out to Vital Heart and Vein in Humble! They were absolutely the best and nicest people yesterday during my heart cath procedure. Rebecca was my nurse and Dr Ganim (don't remember his first name as I know there are several with that name) were my main people but EVERYONE there was amazing! Definitely recommend their cath lab even though at first I was hesitant since it wasn't a hospital. lol. I ended up with a stent, wrist procedure, then after I was back in my room I started experiencing chest pains and nausea. Nurse later told me I looked green. lol. They went back in through the groin and found another blockage, guess that one was hiding, so now I have two stents. Never knew I'd have to carry a card with me for these so found that to be interesting. Thank you all for the positive thoughts and prayers. Big hugs!! ❤️
KanKan : WOW! I'm so glad they found the second blockage. I have never been a pt. there but have taken many people to Vital Heart and Vein. They are great!!!
KanKan : Get a stop bleed kit. Hubs is on Plavix for his stent( he goes off of it come Dec). He had a very minor cut and it was very hard to get it to stop bleeding. I had to super glue it 3 times and put a pressure bandage on it.
He did get Stop Bleed and had to use it last week when he fell. He said it didn't really stop the bleeding- but it would be hard to stop bleeding as he had scrapes and not cuts
Good luck- glad they found the blockages and put in stents.
teatime : I was having shortness of breath so they did a catscan of the heart and it showed I had blockage in three arteries. Two not so bad and one around 60-70%. So they scheduled the heart cath to look around and that's when they saw the actual blockage. I thought the shortness of breath was from being overweight, which I am sure has something to do with it, so have been working on losing weight. But, when Dr Wei told my mom if she was having shortness of breath that she needed to come in, I made an appointment with him and it just went from there. I'm glad I did.
Labslady : How long did your DH have to stay on Plavix? The nurse made it sound like this would be a life long RX and I really hope not. I will have to get one of those stop bleed kits. Never thought about that.
Labslady : This is my arm after the procedure. I just don't want to always look like this being on thinners, especially since I play with the dog so much. 
KanKan : Well if it's any consolation- hubs arm was twice as bad because the took the pressure bandage off and while waiting to see if it would start to bleed - it did. So a nurse had to put pressure on it for 20 minutes and then we had to start that wait period all over again.
KanKan : The Dr told him 1 year. He had the procedure done in May- he just had a follow up and the Dr said he could stop taking it Jan 1. He still needs to take the baby aspirin every day.
I am not familiar with protocol for that so you may want to consult your Dr
KanKan : Thankfully your procedures went well. Vital Heart is the best. We see Dr. Nidal Ganin, son of the Dr. Ganin who founded Vital Heart. We love Dr. Nidal Ganin and have only good experiences with Vital Heart.

KanKan : Talked to hubs this evening. He said forget Stop Bleed- go with Liquid Bandage or Super Glue to stop the bleeds. He used Liquid Bandage to stop the scrapes bleeding on his face
