Most all uber are safe. The drivers have background checks. The app tells u who they are and what they drive.

Also ask to see their ID so you can be sure it's the assigned driver. They don't mind you asking.

I have used Uber many times. They are safe and available frequently. I can't say they are cheap. It depends on the time of day you go. It really varies. If you need a ride, go for it!

You or yours will be absolutely fine... Every once in a while, there's a bad apple but... Very unlikely

BTW - I know a guy. Does Uber and Lyft. He's also available for medical transport. Good dude. And reasonable

Try Lyft, too. They often have lower fares than Uber

I have used Uber countless times. I've never had a problem and always felt safe. One thing to be prepared for, most drivers keep a clean car, but some can be a little messy. They're not going to be clean 2026 towncars. Some older models and occasionally some unkept. Still no reason for concern.

Fanofdogs : I use uber everywhere. They are background checked and safe. Prices are dependent on time of day and/or route. In the years Ive use Uber only one car was a little messy. Didn't care and felt totally safe. Driver's are really pretty cool. You can have a conversation or just sit there. Its simple, safe and cost-effective. Maybe take someone with you the first time you do it.

I uber downtown often they are fine…also to Humble Hermann Memorial and no problem…great service.

Used the ride share companies probably over one hundred times. 99% great. often give a small cash tip though not supposed to. One driver was obviously new, did not know where she was going, and spent more time looking at the gps on her phone than watching the road. That was a little scary. One guy with a minivan was really bad. Not sure if it was him or the vehicle, Reported him to the company. Rest of the time they have been nice and clean and well driven. Like others have said, prices vary. And they all have their favorite routes, but that does not affect the pre-set price.
