muffy : I walk that ditch at night sometimes. I may need to stick to the streets!

muffy : Oh my goodness. I never walk that ditch. I have been telling people for years to think about what could be back there.

wow, I think I have been on or near that same area by kayak...winter time, cold, no reptiles then (about 2 years ago). Water was way down and there were golf balls everywhere. I wonder if that was the same "island" area. Gees......

Maver1ck: alligator eggs

Sandcreek Alligators My son and granddaughter took a walk this evening along the ditch behind Gladehill Drive and Greentree. There was a momma gator and two babies. Be careful if you walk back there.

muffy : Especially if it is a momma and her babies. I heard somewhere that momma can get quite vicious if she thinks the babies are threatened.

peppermintstick : We have lived on this ditch for 28 years and have never seen alligators.

muffy : Gator breeding season is just about wrapped up. Alpha males typically push smaller males out of their territory, so you get smaller gators in spots that they normally don't belong. My old neighbor in Fosters Mill actually had a small gator in her garage a few years ago.

cbear : 100% correct. Mother gators are insanely protective of their babies and the nest.
