We just got back from there on Sunday. We stayed at the Hilton and it was the perfect location. We took the boat ride and went to the Alimo. You can walk there from the hotel. Bring a warm coat. Enjoy

We always get a suite at the Menger. Beautiful this time of year.

Quixote : +1 for the Mengar. It's such a cool hotel with great history and mystery. The location can't be beat.

Had some wonderful celebrations there. The bar is exceptional. And the suites in the old section are pure history.

We stayed at the Hyatt on the Riverwalk at Christmas and loved it! Being right there just adds to the festive atmosphere!

From what I remember as a child, the San Antonio River Walk was so nice at Christmastime. Everything was decorated and festive. It would absolutely be a nice treat to go at that time, but probably very busy. Maybe you could go the week between Christmas and New Years and it would be less busy, but still festive.
