The San Antonio River walk
I am thinking of taking the family to the river walk on Christmas break. Daughter wants to get an Airbnb but I think we should stay on the river walk. Don't have to hunt for parking that way.
I have never been there at Christmas break.
I guess I am asking for any advise from KDC

Very pretty w lights. Pack warmer than you think as it is chillier on Riverwalk. I would Riverwalk hotel, myself. Make reservations.

Did you see two restaurants recently got a Michelin nod? I have not tried them myself but would love to hear if others have. One is 8 courses of dessert.

The Marriott River Center is right there at the main u-turn of the Riverwalk and connected to the mall. Easy access to both the river and the tourist area, and Alamo.

The Mokara is the place to stay, but there are only 99 rooms so it's likely sold out. The place is perfectly located by the Selena Bridge. (Final note: It ain't cheap, but worth every $). Oops, forgot - their Ostra restaurant is outstanding!

Traffic would be a concern , specially knowing how horrible people drive there .

Donnawisdom : The Riverwalk is beautiful right now the Christmas decorations and lights. OMG it's beautiful. You do need to go. And stay at a hotel on the Riverwalk.

stay in an airbnb near the Riverwalk. I go for drinks, shopping and fun on the RW, but there are Much better restaurants in San Antonio, to be had. Use Yelp to find your favorites, when there. If you stay close, you can Lyft to the RW for a reasonable price, too!

My airline used to put us up at the Marriott Riverwalk on San Antonio overnights. It's a nice place. Stayed there more nights than I can count. Never disappointed.

Drury Plaza RW if you want to hotel it; they have night time reception with wine, and breakfast, included. Book directly for good deals with them.

We stayed at the Westin a few months ago and parking at hotel is worth it especially if someone gets tired.

The San Antonio River Walk is absolutely beautiful during Christmas, but I would expect it to be very crowded during the Christmas break. We haven't stayed at the Marriott Riverwalk, but it looks very nice ,and you should probably book it now before it fills up.

Beautiful, busy and usually colder than you'd expect. Last time we took relatives, they loved the lights but were freezing. Ended up leaving early. Dress warm and enjoy.
