Salvation Army - do you feel guilty if you don't donate?

Don't feel guilty one bit.

I don't feel guilty, but I like to put dollar bills in here and there. I've been doing that since I can remember, so it feels a part of Christmas tradition for me.

No, I don't feel guilty. I prefer donating to grassroots organizations during natural disasters.

I usually give to one of them but I don't round up my grocery for charity either. When you do that the store gets the tax deduction and frankly most businesses get tax write offs anyway.

I Do respond to the bell ringer though, and say Happy Holidays, etc, and smile.

Sometimes… but if I have already donated either to them or another organization, I just move on.

I'm like you. If I have some cash, then yes I will, but I can't do it every single time. Sometimes I just don't have cash on me.

cbear : No guilt feelings because I usually put something in the pot. They helped me out when I was "down-and-out" a long time ago.

No guilt
Not only did I volunteer, but they paid me at the end of the week and I donated that to a family for Christmas dinner.
I was blessed as a young mother for their help paying an electric bill. I try to keep loose change in my pockets or a few bucks.
As someone else said, no guilt if you've already given to another.

They do seem to be earlier than years past. Or is that my imagination?

RaggedyAnn : There's a difference between donate physically to SA, and online giving such as the cash register inside. Online donations are usually go through a third party. SA donations go straight to the office for bank deposit.
