@sweetie : Are you on the acre lots by Walnut/Redbud, etc? Don't those already allow horses? I thought they always did. 4951

Didn't most of the course (above the hill) not flood?

@TheBeyonder : the part that flooded is the clubhouse / driving range that is at Hamblen level. The course takes a steep rise within about 200 yards of clubhouse. Probably 14 of 18 holes took no water. I moved from Forest Cove about 2 months before Harvey, so didn't see first hand. 4951

I know Ron Holly, he bought part of that land for Deer Ridge Estates from my FIL and part from a church back in the 90's.

It sucks that the golf course view will be gone for the people along it but I think he'll make the homes nice. 4951

@Reivax : Homes from KW drive and back can have horses. I thought everyone in FC could. 4951

@sweetie : These would not be under the FC HOA. Assuming they would have their own HOA. I'm sure they would allow a horse though with 1 acre. Most of these homes sit on about .3 to .5 but there are some bigger ones. I do know it's legal to drive golf carts but that may go away with no course. 4951

That's great news!!!! Especially considering the options, we all knew it wasn't going to be another golf course, just wasn't financially beneficial for an owner. Could of been apts, set empty and full of varmints and brush, but looks like FC will be kept up, and even improve. Love that it will be keeping the larger lots up, you do not find that in other neighborhoods.
