I'm a bit older, but we tried this concept of raising our children to behave in public. I'll go into hiding for saying this, but we even spanked our kids when they misbehaved. I'll be back in a few years when things cool down. 4951
Why can't anyone just help this guy out instead of giving him parenting advice? Restaurants are a challenge no matter how well behaved your 3 year old is. 4951

We go to Willie's Icehouse for lunch, from work sometimes, and they have a sandbox play area. I look at it and think "I wonder how many stray cats and other critters use that as a litter box at night, when the restaurant is closed?" 4951

Not sure why anyone expected to "dine" with a toddler and have them act like little robots and be well behaved every single time. I see some behaved, others are tired and cranky and whiney, how children are, nothing new. Some places to eat are NOT for toddlers, and is purely my opinion. 4951

And meant to say I applaud the OP trying to find a place to take the children to that are child friendly. I just could not get past the "germs" that may have been lurking, lol. 4951

grika : I really can't think of a place around here, unfortunately. When I live in Katy there were several nearby restaurants with play areas. It was a great place for us moms to meet up and spend some time chit-chatting while the kids played. Then, once my kids were older it was a great way to know which places to avoid since they would be packed with kids. I really don't see anything wrong with restaurants having an area set up for kids, especially if they are trying to attract young families with children!
grika : No offense BUT a restaurant is a place people go to dine NOT a playground.

Iguana Joes in Atascocita has a nice outside dining and play area.
