Yea the sensationalists are coming out of the woodwork. I had to stop following Mikes Weather page- he got into the hype and storm chasing for my liking 🙄.
I know I no longer have a horse in the race but I am interested in weather esp tropical weather!

Reckless "prediction" This is from Travis Herzog at Abc13. God he's nothing but RECKLESS in what he does. You CANNOT give a 14+ DAY outlook with any certainty, but especially with tropical development! 🙄 This just seems like a dramatic post in order to get more viewers. 🙄 ... From Travis Herzog Facebook page: "Tonight I'm going to continue gently raising your awareness about the potential for a tropical system to organize in the Gulf of Mexico late next week. There is currently no actionable threat to Texas, but that could change down the road. Juicy tropical air now over the Caribbean will push north into the Gulf of Mexico this week, and all indications are that low pressure will spin up somewhere in the vicinity of that moisture over the record warm waters. In the near term we have high confidence the moisture streaming around that low will initially send heavy rains into Florida. But on or just after Father's Day, there are indications that the low pressure and all its moisture may start moving toward Texas. Looking at the projected upper-level air pattern, I do believe there's a fair chance this will try to develop into the season's first named storm, which would be Alberto. Again, there is currently no specific threat to Texas, and none may ever materialize. But if I'm a Gulf coast resident, I'd keep a watchful eye on how things evolve over the next week. 'Tis the season." ................ If u want accurate tropics info, look here: theeyewall.com/welco me-to-the-eyewall/

StormChaser: I agree it's ridiculous. Most area meteorologists have difficulty accurately forecasting weather just one day out

A good person to follow for tropical storms is Dr. Levi Cowan the founder of Tropical Tidbits.

Herzog is not the only one to mention that area. Also, what I read is a simple mention to just be aware. Nothing outrageous, alarmist or overboard.

Maybe just a difference of opinion and perception here is all.
