Babieborris : It's been the law in Houston since 2023. Is your pet microchipped? That's part of the ordinance as well.

Recieved a letter today An animal registration notice from Barc. What the heck? I never knew you had to pay the city to own a dog. 😐
Babieborris : Every time my dogs were vaccinated, my vet gave me a registration application in the form of an envelope to send in. Not sure what I did with all of them. Actually, all dogs and cats over 4 months of age are required to be vaccinated, MICROCHIPPED, and registered by City of Houston. All of my dogs and cats have been chipped and vaccinated, not so much registered.
1836 : Microchip requirement started in 2023, registering started looooong before that.

Babieborris : I just googled and Harris Co has required this since 2005.
OBSD68 : Maybe because I took him to Banfield, but they never even told us about anything like this. It is my fault as well because I didn't even think about ordinances or anything relating to pets.
Babieborris : How would you know? It's the vets responsibility to inform you since they're doing the vaccinating, in my opinion. This discussion has been locked.
