Were You Ready to Go Back to School After the Summer?
Were You Ready to Go Back to School After the Summer? When summer was over, were you ready to go back to school? Have been seeing all of the school supplies now on the shelves, and my kids are grown, so just checked to see when school begins. Humble ISD starts on August 14th! When I taught school, we started right before Labor Day, had a short week, and then the kids were off for a 4 day holiday. Were you anxious to return to class; why or why not?

Picasso13 : I think the kids Knew summer was over :0 I liked going back to school to see friends I had not seen much of/at all, over the summer. Since it was hot well through September, we still swam in the pool, and went to the beach on the weekends
LittleTexas : Of course we knew that summer was over but I didn't want to be reminded about it. The teacher should have welcomed us on a positive note.
LittleTexas : Both the last day of the school year and the first day of the new school year were exciting. The in between months were not so exciting although, truth be told, I enjoyed school.

Picasso13 : I agree; I always welcomed my students with a message that they were beginning a wonderful season, not "Goodbye" to a past one :0 I get tough love, but first day of class is not the time for that.
LittleTexas : I liked school. But I would rather have the summer for reading.

LittleTexas : Never! My summers were fantastic! Lived on the beach.
LittleTexas : No I hated school and did not want my summer to end. I still don't want my summer to end.
LittleTexas : Usually I was ready to go back to school. Our school year started after Labor Day, plus our State Fair was held annually in our town, so It was the 'last hurrah' of summer.
