Question for long time Forest Cove residents -

We moved into FC in 1976 and didn't even know there was a phone book.

Forstcove would have been included in the Kingwood phone book.Check the Kingwood Library.

My family moved here in 1970 so the phone directory must've been before 1976. I do remember when our prefix was 293 (before 358) we only had to dial (on a rotary phone!) the 3 and then the last four digits of the phone number. It was probably more like a little pamphlet than an actual phone book.
Sam Caldwell (FC resident and 2004 State of Texas Artist) is working on the history of Forest Cove and he is "gathering a list of the families there and also getting pictures of the sports teams, scouts, and other groups".

Could you be talking about Centel? That was the "phone company " for Humble, Forest Cove, and, I'm pretty sure, Kingwood. What a mess! They certainly weren't prepared to handle the huge influx of new customers. But I don't even recall a phone book from them.

No - this was strictly a Forest Cove directory - it was not from the phone company (which I think was Home Telephone Company).
