SteveT : Thats awesome. Every parent thinks their kids are smart and I'm no exception to that. But many of his teachers have told us that he may have something extra. It's really cool.

ZMAN : That is COOL! And I know that he will have a childhood and common sense put into him two with you and @Aberratia as parents!

Proud Parent Brag My son was recognized at school today by Humble ISD for being a National Math Star Nominee. This nomination is for students that have demonstrated exceptional mathematic achievement , and the Humble ISD Advanced Academics Department recognizes them in person. He is going to receive a medal a certificate and letter to honor his achievement. We also just found out that this award puts him in the running for an amazing scholarship opportunity. If he is one of the lucky nominees selected he will receive a $10,000 per year (until Graduation) scholarship to use on extra curricular math and science summer camps and programs. He was nominated for this because his math and science scores are in the top 2% in the entire district of over 6000 students (he's in the 3rd grade). I couldn't be more proud.

ZMAN : That's a really great opportunity. Congrats and good luck!

I agree; he Does has a gift with numbers.,and I would say, more. Each of your kids are different; you recognize, support and love them, the Same, though are not 'the same'. Funny thing Is, the one getting his Masters, with a very successful/chosen at age 8 ,dream career is doing Very, Very well, at 31. His brother, 34, was an okay 'barely B' student, but school was not his 'thing'. Three years ago, he started his own company within his chosen expertise/field, and now is insanely successful; earning more than All of us, put together . So, just let them know that you all support them in their choices, and cheer them on. My Favorite part is that Both of my young men are loving, hard working people, with integrity and grace.
