I own a pair of standard Costa Del Mar sunglasses. I would like to change out the lens to be a prescription. Are there places locally that do that pretty reasonably or do I need to try to go through the manufacture?

HappyDay2016 : You can go to the spots that offer deals and see what they will charge. my son's eye doctor gave him a great deal, as he wanted to use his Gucci frames for sunglasses, and they did a great job,at a fair price.
HappyDay2016 : thats going to be spendy if you can even find a place that will put lenses in those. Just order an all new pair frames and all from Zenni online, It will be significantly easier and cheaper.
ZMAN : I use them too for my regular glasses and even have sun glasses from Zenni. I have this one costa frame that was already $$ and hate to waist it

The optical shop's biggest income is the frames they sell and the mark up is about 500%. I have a pair of frames I like and go to Vision Source on KW Drive to get an exam and have lens replaced. They don't like to, but they will for a small charge.
billcherie2 : I recently saw a frame that I liked at the store in town center; they were $255.00. Took a pic of the info, went home and Googled it. Found the same frames in a store on Ebay for $69. Bought them and took them to Vision Source and had my new prescription put in. Perfect.

SandyKnee : Do you have ChatGPT? The other day I took a picture of a purse that was so cute. I loaded it and somehow it matched the exact purse online. I didn't end up buying it but cool that is found it. Did you use google images to find your frames or just manual search in your own?

HappyDay2016 : I used the info I found on the tag on the frame at the store. Brand, style number and even the measurements. Put that in Google, because I wanted to see pictures of them again and if anyone else sells them. A site on Ebay came up that had them. Same size and all; it worked out perfectly. « Back to Chat
