Power Outage

Kittle : I would guess they realized they needed to replace something after they got the power back on, so they "planned" that replacement. Better to have power off when it's 80 degrees outside, rather than 100.

buffaloglenn : True - 80 is better than 100. Nonetheless CenterPoint has been negligent in maintenance during the spring and fall seasons when the temps are moderate.

StormChaser : Are they admitting it's a planned rolling outage? I'd rather that be the case than equipment issues. But only if my planned outage comes during sleepytime and not in heat of day.

dan4182 : I need to switch I'm so sick of optimum. I've been thinking about switching for years and I never do it. But I don't know that much about tauchus. Is it expensive? Does it always stay on? Do you have trouble with it going in and out?

sweetie : They have 3 plans 100 Mbps for $60/month, 500 Mbps for $80/month or 1 Gigabit for $90/month.We've been subscribers for app. 2+ years now and have never had an outage. They have standby generators throughout the network so when the power goes out their generators come on.You couldn't hold a gun to my head and get me to go back to Optimum.

sweetie: We have had them over a year. Same price we started with and several months ago they upped the 500 Mbps to 600 for the same price. No hidden fees like Optimum. I think we lost service for a few hours once and I heard it was Comcast's fault.

sweetie : yes you do!!! Not near as expensive as optimum, always stays on (unless u lose power of course) never had any trouble at all. No added fees for rental equipment and such.
