Thank you. I am looking into that. I was looking at a smaller generator since this will not be my "forever home" any suggestions?

I use an uninterruptible power supply for my computer, monitor, router, and Tachus modem. It filters out the the short quick power blips and will run all of those for about an hour. The cost was about $150 from Amazon ($190 now). For days of outage from storms I have a portable generator that plugs into my electrical panel. Fortunately since I bought the generator I haven't needed to use it.

We got a battery backup because of that reason. If the power goes out, we will still have internet for at least 90 minutes or so. My husband used to work from home some days. That would allow him enough time to notify the office what was going on and work on any thing that he could during that time. If he was in the middle of a big project, he could find a good stopping point so he wouldn't lose progress.
I will say, however, I'm in Greentree and my lights keep blinking like they want to go off. It's like someone is standing nearby messing with a dimmer switch. I'm just waiting for the power to go out.
Yep that's about it. Or move out of Kingwood DS did have the power problem when he lived close to the Med Center but then it wasn't a great part of town . We've been in AZ 8 months and have not lost power once- not even a blip. Of course that's more expensive than a generator 🤣
Where in Ohio did you come from. We lived in Cincinnati. There are quite a few Buckeyes on this board
I also came from Cincinnati. I totally agree I have met many people from Ohio and Michigan too.
