Went over the WLH bridge yesterday and some jackrabbit was on a bike, no helmet, not a "bike" rider type person, just regular clothes, and a backpack. Â Beyond stupid. Â Right to do it, doesn't mean you should. Â There was a sidewalk less than a foot away. Â Nothing worse than going down Mills Branch, at rush hour, the sun is in your face, and there is a bike rider. Â Â Yes a rider can ride anytime. Â But in rush hour, on Mills Branch is insanity. Â Just like a dog walker out in the morning at 6:30 with 4 dogs on a leash, walking. Â You are lucky to see the person let alone the 4 dogs all on long leashes. Â Yes drivers have to pay attention, but so do people on the streets. Â We have greenbelts and sidewalks. Â They are best used at rush hour. Â Be aware that walking in the early morning sun, can make you invisible to a driver. Â And dead and right, is still dead.I never go over 20 in the neighborhoods. Â Not ever. Â I always worry about hitting a kid or dog that may run out. Â So it isn't about being a speed demon in the am's. Â Or at rush hour. Â It is about a little common sense all around.

luv2eatsushi: I believe it's more about the time of day, not so much the fact that she's on a bike. It's also a huge safety issue, being the slow moving object with a child BEHIND, in and amongst heavy traffic in the middle of rush hour. If a sidewalk is not available, then she should have picked a time of day when the roads aren't quite so busy. She has every right to be on the road, but her judgment is questionable, at best.
