Sweet baby hayzeus.....get a life people and leave this mom alone. She doesn't whiz past you in your standing-dead-still car in the drop off line and deliver her kids to the front door before your kid has the chance to unbuckle their seat belt, grab his/her backpack/lunchbox and kiss you goodbye just to get one over on you. She does it because she has a different kind of situation to deal with in trying to get 2 kids to 2 different schools at the same time. If she used her car, one of her kids would be late to school every single day of the school year. Kudos to to her for being smart enough to figure out how to navigate around that obstacle. To the OP - you literally broke the law using your phone while driving, and I don't know if you noticed it or not, but you are about to drive over a crosswalk. In Texas, cars, BY LAW, have to yield to foot traffic on crosswalks. If you're not understanding of what that means just yet, it means you need to be driving at an appropriate speed not to run over pedestrians on a crosswalk. Any street with marked crosswalks are not meant to be driven like the autobahn.  That being said, thank you for pointing out that people should watch out for cyclists who are legally on a street. Too many people fail to watch for 2 wheeled legal traffic on roads, and that gets a lot of people killed each year. So, for all motorists and cyclists on the road - stay legal, stay off your phones, and be aware of your surroundings.  4951

minme13: Like monyhoney stated if you would have read every thing you would know the news was one sided and it was not about breaking a law(s)... As far as the OP's photo... if they were at a stop, vehicle not moving when they took picture they were not breaking the law. Didn't see anyone in the crosswalk in the picture....

I responded to the OP post, not everyone else's concerns. I stated that clearly. The OP implied lawfulness in the post, thus legality is that particular issue. It seems pretty clear the vehicles were in motion - otherwise the cyclist's feet would be on the ground. That's not rocket science. Pretty terrible and unsafe, not to mention illegal - especially around school zones. As far as the crosswalk is concerned, this road LITERALLY shares the road with foot traffic. It is insane to discuss this bike impeding traffic when the road, by law, is shared with foot traffic.  4951
