It looks like they'll be taking about half of the front Randalls space. It's good the something going in there.

This is a great gym for people that don't really wanna work out. They have pizza parties, ice cream, socials etc. Best of all....no lifting heavy weights. It's 10$/month so Grizzy we be there monthly

@Reverb2000 : As a weightlifter, I'm not a fan of planet fitness, but most of that stuff isn't true anymore if it ever was. I've never been a PF member, but I've been as a guest many times. They got rid of the pizza mondays and bagel tuesdays with the pandemic. And they just raised the base price to $15/month, although the $10/month advertised price was always misleading cause if you pro-rate the annual fee it was already ~ $15/month. So now I guess you'd be paying $20/mo with the annual fee factored in.

But the lack of heavy free weights is true though. If you're looking for a gym at the same price point, I'm a fan of the Crunch chain although I've never been to the Atascacita location:

Why? We have enough gyms. Bring something for KIDS. We have elementary schools full of children but have to go elsewhere to find fun places for the children. Grant it, KANGAs in Atascocita isn't far but that's only 1 place. The trampoline places are unsafe and with our weather, outdoor activities are questionable.

KTownTexican : Yes, as if traffic wasn't already terrible on KWD between Green Oak and 494. But it will give the front of KW a gym option without having to drive to NP or Town Center.

Wow we have a lot of gyms in Kingwood. YMCA, the new place near ACE, fitness project, several small workout centers that have personal trainers. Lifetime fitness as well if people live further towards the bridge in Kingwood. One nice thing about this gym is it is affordable. The other thing is that they offer free access for teens in the summer. There are a lot of families that can't afford gym for their athlete kids and this will help them stay in shape. I guess I am neutral about it.
