People keep asking, "When are more Lake Houston floodgates coming?" Today, we got answers. And some backstory on why thousands of homes DIDN'T flood in May 2024.

Thanks again Bob, that's welcomed news. Also, on line check out Dalelink.com. He's an engineer in Florida who's predictions of severe storms over the last 20 years have a 84% rating for accuracy. This year he predicts no Houston direct hits by hurricanes. Hope so.

billcherie2: It's definitely gotten better with the continued dredging and the coordination of lowering lake levels between Houston and the SJRA.

Theoldman : two different kinds of release. But I knew when i purchased my home, the area floods. So i did an elevation check first.

luv2eatsushi: I did as well. My house/street was high and dry during Harvey. But I'll still be concerned about other areas of KW until the situation at the Lake Houston dam is corrected.
