Kids left the school on their own. School resumed after the issue was solved.

KHS: The lockdown at Kingwood High School has been lifted. The student was detained and no weapons were found. Our campus has returned to normal operations. If you chose to pick up your student, please be sure to follow proper checkout procedures.

I can't even imagine what the parents of that child is saying - not only to themselves but friends, neighbors, relatives, etc.
I hope there will be some serious conversations with that child from his/her parents and officers.

My son, his wife and my granddaughters are moving to Kingwood next month and I will be moving in a couple months there as well. Out of curiosity, is this the first lockdown or has this happened a few times?

kgcheese : This is an amazing school with amazing teachers and administrators. We have been here almost 7 years, and these schools are the only thing that has kept us from moving. When we got here the plan was only 2 years and then out but we're still here. You will not beat these schools, I've tried and turned down job offers because the schools in the areas that were making offers couldn't come close. This is the only lockdown so far since my daughter has been there.

Today was horrible. I was texting with my daughter through it all. I held her so tight when she got home and we both cried a lot.

MomofOne: thank you for that information! I am looking forward to moving to Kingwood also the move to Texas as whole lol.
From someone who lives in an area where you have seen at least 1 lockdown a year, the schools in my area are quick to send notices and put up FB statuses so they can get ahead of any rumors. Hopefully the school noticed how many stories came out that they will find ways to dispel rumors right away.

Some people are so rude on here with no compassion. Stop telling people what they can say. Prayers that all the kids and faculty find some peace after such a tough experience today.

[quote-tag-mismatch]MomofOne : No one, including myself, believes that any of the emotions were ridiculous. Everything you were hearing was scary and completely awful. No one ever wants to hear any of it. That's why I was begging for all people to stop spreading rumors. Everything was made so much worse because people were repeating anything they heard because everyone was desperate for news. If people had stopped and said, "ok there is only the possibility of a weapon and no confirmed shooters or shootings" then maybe we wouldn't all be shook up. All I want is for people to be responsible and only spread confirmed news from reputable sources.

Stella2020 : when someone is asking for information and there are "boots on the ground: aka my daughter, and im seeing things like this photo, which is not hearsay or rumors, I'm simply sharing what is given in hopes to inform other parents of the information sent to me. I get what you are saying, I really do, but I also lived it along side my daughter's texts. This barricade was not done by students, but the instructors of this class with the help of students. All involved believed danger was imminent. I thought carefully before posting, trying to decipher what was real or dramatized. Your comments fell flat and unhelpful. That's all I'm saying. Confirmed sources came way later than the barricade of piano, chairs and handing out anything that could be used as a weapon to stop the perp that all believed was in the building and armed. I only hope that if it happens to you, you can restrain yourself from questioning other parents and or from sharing any info that you have. Again, I pray you and your son never have a day like these kids and the parents and staff had today. My daughter's English teacher was alone and visibly shaken with make-up under her eyes when the kids bravely walked themselves to 5th period today to her class. She was under her desk, alone the whole time.. I'm sure she wouldn't have appreciated your statement either. She seemed very traumatized. Let's all give each other a little grace.

kgcheese : A couple of bomb threats this year but this was the first gun so far. They'll like it, though.
