I work as well....but if I see litter...I pick it up. I won't charge anyone for picking up!  Do you have 2 dogs?

TXCheri: It's not litter that is a problem for me. It's the plastic lawn chairs and tables in view, beer can wind chime type front yard decor, huge piles of trash for heavy trash day that sit there for the whole month, and way overgrown lawns (not just in need of a mow, but jungle-like), garage doors that are broken for over a year, and other trashy stuff like that. If someone doesn't want to live in a deed restricted neighborhood, that's fine. I am frustrated that I do care to live in one, and when I (repetedly) bring these issues up with the hoa, it doesn't make any difference. Just because I am in Sherwood Trails, doesn't mean it can't be as beautiful here as in every other Kingwood neighborhood. *sigh*

Hey thank you guys - this is extremely beneficial information, good observations, and useful opinions. I've driven around there a few times and yes there are areas I didn't like (xmas decor still up, fallen over deer, cars in street, unkept yards) but those are the certain percentage of slobs that live nearly everywhere. There were other areas we quite liked. 4951

Don't know much about Oakhurst, but we too have had issues with CAM. They really do a **** poor job at managing. Never answer your calls, never return them and barely get any help unless you go directly to the office which has turned out to be no better. 4951

We lived in kingwood for 16 years, made the decision after children moved out to downsize a bit and get out of Harris. County.   We have loved Oakhurst, love being so close to 59, love the tremendous amount of people out walking, and for the first time in almost 30 years have what I'd call "normal" neighbors.   And now we have a fabulous new Kroger so close at hand, with many new stores and restaurants moving in.    No complaints at all!    4951

Oakhurst is a top option for a move at the current time.   Taxes are higher and deed restrictions are tight....but that is a good thing IMO. 4951

I don't know where Sherwood Trails is...I will look it up.  I mainly travel on Bentwood Oaks Drive and Rock Creek.  I sometimes drive into the neighborhood.  And, yes, you deserve not to live in a "tacky" place.  That would bother me as well.  I guess I am lucky to live next to considerate neighbors. 4951

@MTechnique  I was going to say none, but I got up and went out...and there is one at the end of the driveway next door.  I didn't put mine out because I didn't think they would come because of the weather.  Did you get the notice that we will now have to put the trash at the bottom of the drive?  They used to say to us that we should keep at the garage door because if left at the street it looks unsightly.  Well, now we HAVE to put at the end of the street.  But, the rates are going down a bit and now we will all be given a container for recycling. 4951

Yeah, I guess my neighbors are just a bit lazier than yours. I read that in the flyer this morning, I'm *so very happy* to save a dollar and forty six cents a month by putting the trash curbside rather than at the garage where it looks nicer, those savings are really going to add up....No one asked me RE the curbside vs garage, nor on the recycling. I'd have left it the way it was personally. Most people already put the trash the curb anyway, although I'm not sure why. 4951

TXCheri: It has the smallest houses (and least expensive) homes in KW. My beef is, just because my budget doesn't afford me the luxury of a larger home, doesn't mean I should have to be surrounded by people with no pride. Before my divorce, I was in a custom home on 2 1/2 acres. Frankly, I still want to have an appearance that I have pride in what I can afford at this point in my life. I am hoping with my big mouth, I can get the hoa to shape things up around here. Drive through, girl. You will see my point of view. I promise! It's right across from KPark off Woodland Hills Dr.

Is it near Elm Grove Elementary School?  I have never been in that section.  I wanted to be close to 59 for an easy commute to downtown.  It is terrible that divorce changes your life so much that you can't have what you once had as a couple - I know - I have gone through the same thing.   4951
