Just a heads up for anyone traveling in or out of Kingwood. Northpark is shut down to 1 lane each direction as they are working on the drainage system for the new expansion. Traffic is flowing OK for now at 11:00 am. (This came from another group)

ZMAN : Northpark already floods near the Walmart, not sure what the plans are when the ditch is covered. They may add a drain hopefully?

The FB page for Kingwood in groups has a good posting on this shared from reduceflooding.com
It's very detailed and explains a lot about what will be happening on Northpark over time. Short answer is that it took a long time to coordinate all the entities, as it will go through more than one county. They are starting with the culverts in the median for drainage. The final project will expand to 10 lanes near 494. Eventually it will be expanded all the way to Kingwood College. So, this is going to take a long time. If you can find the article, please read and share, I think this article will help with a lot of speculation.
