The Northpark Expansion Project actually made a lot of progress

I've never seen a road project where there wasn't a projected completion date at all. I'm sorry, but I also don't see this as "a lot of progress" for over two years, especially with such a massive budget.

icare : My company gas card is only good at Chevron and Texaco which we don't have either of in Kingwood. I'm looking forward to this new station.

HappyinTX : this was being talked about around Ike circa 2008 with completion around 2014 or 15. The COH and MoCo and State of TX didn't want to pay for it which started years of delay. The TIRZ bonds finally fell into the lap of the proponents after Harvey, but dealing with Railroad and the overpass led to more delays, as did moving utilities and completing the massage drainage project connected to moving the runoff from heavy rains safely thru the Flood Control ditches to the San Jac. To be honest compared to the 494 widening once the construction of the new North Park started it has moved fairly quickly. Read Rehak posts, he posts the Contractors updated construction schedule often.

It is sad to see how slow these guys work ,but you cannot have a road finished if 6 people work ...it is ridiculous how ancient equipment is used and how they are dragging these projects...the loop 494 is being worked on forever...let's gnoy even mention the screw up they did on NP now every time it will rain the water stays on the road and Kingwood will always be in danger of flooding.
This is what happens when everywhere you look you find engineers problem is the brain is missing.Pathetic.

Yes , whenever they decide to put more than 6 guys on it out of which 3 are sleeping or smoking in the truck... that is why we have these classy roads...shame...

Really wish they woulda fixed that dip over the rr trax when going into kinghood on np. Usually i go extra fast or your crap box will buckle.

The home finding center guy assured us one of the pluses of buying here was that it would top out at a certain number ( can't recall the specific number 34+ years later) but that it would never become an urban montropilis in answer to my concerns about growth. Showed us that huge proud map of Kingwood's namesake of the hundreds of acres of green space (now all mowed down) that we were told would never go away. We were home buyer babies and he knew it. How could he have not known the goal was to not stop until every square inch of that green space would eventually cease to exist. You are 100% correct. The livable forest my ***
