North Texas weather alert This area of Texas and Oklahoma is expected to see up to softball size hail starting now thru late this evening. We're talking 5" hail that can & will penetrate roofs and cars. Not good. Yellow is tornado watch & red is severe thunderstorm warning The second threat is the possibility of long track, violent tornadoes anywhere in the yellow highlighted area. Anyway, it is NOT coming here but if you're up there tonight, or you have family there, you might want to give them a heads up!

StormChaser : I think we're supposed to get rain overnight, no?

eighteen : Yes, we will see a line but we are not expecting severe weather. Just posted by a chaser I follow. Tennis ball to GRAPEFRUIT sized hail has been confirmed and is moving into the northern portions of the DFW area. 😬

StormChaser : I saw Middle Tennessee is also expecting hail, canceled school.

Not sure the rubber roofs can even stand up to grapefruit size hail

I remember when Fort Worth spent years redoing down town to revive the city. Then one night a hail storm came through and blew out downtown windows everywhere. Luckily like most things over time it was restored back. That was in the late 90s. It was so sad seeing everything smashed up after all the hard work the city had done with older buildings. Hoping those glass buildings don't get impacted again

I was in Shreveport the other day and they were advertising this on the weather news. In the Arclatex area.
