Yes it is now the norm. No tree trimming on a regular basis is occurring.

Omg I am so sorry no one warned you about our power problems. I got a whole house generator about 3 years ago cause the power goes out so often.

Labslady : Yup. After Beryl, we got our generator. Elm Grove: 18 days with Ike, 4 days with Rita & 4 days with Harvey. Trailwood; 7 days with the freeze, 7 days with the derecho & 12 days with Beryl.

When the local electric company suggests you get a generator and offers a rebate program, you really have to wonder.
Of course, CenterPoint also has the natural gas too.
