Dave Martin responded to the Kingwood community regarding the recent business burglaries via his Facebook page. Multiple businesses were burglarized in the early hours of Saturday 7/30/22.

Martin's comments on his Facebook page stated, "I am deeply saddened and angry to hear about the 20 businesses that were burglarized and vandalized over the weekend in the Kingwood area, our community has been through so much. I have requested that our Houston Police Department's Kingwood Division be outfitted with Flock Safety Security Cameras which will help to monitor all traffic in and out of our community. After speaking with HPD Kingwood over the weekend, I will be meeting with them later today to see how I can further assist. I have always provided and will continue to provide HPD with overtime funding through my Council District Service Fund. Kingwood will not be broken. We are strong and will get through this."

I assume at least one of these businesses had an alarm, so let's say at least one of them did.
Once the alarm goes off, what's the response time for police?
I'm not faulting law enforcement for not arriving within 5 minutes or anything, I'm just curious what is normal expected response time when a store alarm at a business is set off?

I know this was at night but I'm wondering where are the bike cops during the day. We used to have them around here. I use to see them all the time on their bikes in Kingwood. I haven't seen one in a long time I think before Covid

IMHO, every car with temp tags and blacked-out windows that are driving on KWD or NP after midnight should be stopped and asked for license and registration. That would be a big step in monitoring criminal activity in KW.

@CaffeineFree :
I totally agree with you but unfortunately you gotta have probable cause. If tags are expired, then yes.

@WTF : I agree with the probable cause comment, but when driving at night, I've found that cops can come up with a probable reason to stop a car if they want. Tail light out, windows tinted too dark, not coming to a full stop at a stop light or right turn on red, etc. DS used to work at Mr. Gatti's back in the 90s and got stopped a few times for minor infractions. I realize that not everyone driving the streets in the wee hours of the morning is a crook. But maybe the crooks would think twice about targeting KW businesses.

@Reivax : It's forever. We had to call them out for an attempted theft at 2:30am and it took 45 min. We weren't in danger so maybe that is why they didn't rush.
