We should be sad. The number of teachers leaving the profession is astounding. When you combine the school shootings, the expectation that teachers carry guns, the delusional fight against mentioning race, the banning of sex education, the liabilities are just too many for the earnings. If they leave the profession, they easily make more money. In the meantime, Marjorie Taylor Greene says schoolchildren should be taught and be armed to protect themselves...

According to Texas law, you don't need a CCL or any other license to carry. It just has to be legal for you to own a gun... That may have been reinforced by the supreme court decision on New York's law limiting guns. The change in the Texas law might explain why the news has become just running down the latest shootings...

Not sure how it is for elementary grades but for high school, I wouldn't recommend being a teacher, unless you want to be micromanaged, under paid, spending your own money for supplies while getting no support from management while they heap bigger class sizes and more responsibilities that used be responsibilities of someone else. You will also be stretched to the end of your mental health capabilities and possibly be asked to in addition to teaching to become a police officer and guidance counselor.All the while cell phones are making class management unmanageable with little or no support from parents who side with students regardless of it being the fault of their little angel.
