@KingwoodDotCom : Really low bonds set for felony theft. They will be back out in the street resuming their criminal careers in a day or two.

@KingwoodDotCom : Big deal on bonds. Just by stealing those converters auto owners are out a whole lot more than their bonds. And to think they only have to put up to $250 or $500 they could just go steal another converter and pay themselves back

@sweetie : This may be a dumb question, but do all vehicles have catalytic converters?

Maybe if someone would make them stay in jail or give them higher bonds they would quit doing this. It would surely only take a few of them to make an example to other would be catalytic converter thieves.

@amanda79 : Yes. They are going after catalytic converters on Trucks and SUVs because they are easier to get to.

@amanda79 : They do, with the exception of vehicles that qualify as antiques. Some models have the converter incorporated into the exhaust manifold so they can't easily be stolen. Thieves target certain vehicles because of the ease of stealing them as well as the type of precious metals used as the catalyst (think platinum).

I have a solution for all criminals caught in pairs that would satisfy both the tough on crime and rehab positions. Give one life in prison and let the other one go telling next time that be his sentence. You get 1 criminal out of the streets and I'm pretty sure the other guy will be fully rehabilitated ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

@buffaloglenn : Thank you for the info. I have friends that live in the neighborhood where those two were arrested They have cars though. Just thought I should warn them, but a Malibu would probably be hard to get to the converter.

@amanda79 : True - first targets for thieves are pickups or SUV's that are easy to crawl under.

Really 5000 and 2500 ridiculas, these are the thieves causing issues or a few of them in this entire area, and bond that low, what country is this. SMH. this causes citizens a lot of headaches and cost, but I guess citizens don't matter, Ridiculas.
