CONSTABLE MARK HERMAN'S SAFETY TIPS TO AVOID ROAD RAGE CONFLICT

Constable Mark Herman and his team want to make sure you do not become a victim of Road Rage. Road Rage incidents have already increased this month, and we would like to give the following recommendations if you are exposed to a road rage incident:

• Move over if someone is tailgating you
• Use an “I’m sorry” gesture (e.g. wave) to attempt to defuse the situation
• Plan ahead; allow time for delays during your journey
• Consider whether you’ve done something to annoy the other driver and adjust your driving accordingly
• Listen to music you enjoy
• Use your horn sparingly
• Avoid eye contact with angry drivers and give them plenty of room

Drive safe Precinct 4, and call us if you need us!

I have notiched aggressive drivers more lately like tailgate at 80 mph on freeway so I see them coming so I move over then get flipped off. As they pass at 90 mph. I use a blinker, most don't in Texas for some reason. And the zipper merge people glad there in front of me and not behind me. I Ignore them and actually Just consider the source. Usually same type people from a different class.

@KingwoodDotCom : What if you are having difficulty making the Vulcan "Live Long and Prosper" greeting and Johnny Rage interprets it as the NE Coast one finger hello neighbor signal

It's amazing how quickly you can calm yourself down after you see them hit the concrete barricade.
