Lone Star College - Kingwood is excited to show off student talent at its 2019 Student Art Show.
This show is the third exhibition to take place in the renovated Fine Arts Gallery since Hurricane Harvey. Student artwork will be on view Sept. 3-Oct. 9, and an award reception is on Sept. 4 at 12 p.m. Located in the Administration and Performing Arts Center (APA), all gallery events are free and open to the public.
"Recovery from Hurricane Harvey has been remarkable. We are excited to show off students' creations to our campus community and the public," said Kris Larson, LSC-Kingwood gallery director.
Students will display artwork created in Design I, Design III and Drawing classes during the 2018-2019 academic year. Guest juror Justin Varner will judge submitted works and will discuss the judging process and his experiences in juried shows. Varner holds a Master of Fine Arts from Indiana University is a full-time painting professor at Houston Community College.
"This show highlights the students' achievement in the form of visual art. Community members are invited to the show to be inspired by the creativity of these students," said Mari Omori, LSC-Kingwood art professor.
The next exhibition is the 2019 Faculty Art Show that will run Oct. 30-Dec. 4. The reception is on Nov. 6 at 12 p.m.
