Here is a Stranger Danger alert from Humble ISD about an incident that occurred today near Bear Branch Elementary in Kingwood.

"We want to inform you of a stranger danger at our campus today. At approximately 12:50 during P.E. class, two second graders were on the sidewalk next to the building on the side of the campus bordering Tree Lane. A car was moving down Tree Lane toward Woodland Hills, and a man called out the window, "Hey, do you want some candy?" The car did not slow or stop but kept moving along Tree Lane. The students immediately reported the incident to their teacher.

We have reported this incident to Humble ISD Police, and officers will patrol this area during dismissal time.

This is a good opportunity to review a few safety tips with your child:
Walk to and from school in groups.
If anything unusual occurs, tell an adult immediately. Time can be critical.
Never talk to strangers or accept rides from them, even if you are stranded. Call a trusted adult for transportation.
Tell a trusted adult - parent, teacher or counselor - if anyone ever makes you feel uncomfortable.
Please continue to encourage your children to report any concerns to our school staff, Humble ISD Police (281-641-7900) or through the Humble ISD iHelp app.

Thank you for your continued support,

Kakie Palmer,
Principal"

I'm good friends with the principal so I'm sure she takes this very seriously. Probably just a prank but not worth the time to not inform parents. Creeps.

@KingwoodDotCom : this was during pe, where was the teacher? Oh the teacher was on the other side of the school away from the street, with 2nd graders walking near Tree lane. Why doesnt the school have cameras watching the campus and streets? Elementary schools should have the most security and complete surveillance in the class rooms, inside and out. with audio recording as well.

Glad no child was injured. How scary for the children.
