Dick's Sporting Goods....

“We did everything that the law required and still he (Florida school shooter) was able to buy a gun,” said CEO and chairman Edward Stack who is a gun owner himself. “When we looked at that, systems that are in place are just not enough to keep us from selling a gun like that.”

What a bunch of wusses! It will never stop any kind of mass casualties situations because they stop selling assault (style) rifles. I know they're just trying to make a statement but I have to guess that they weren't selling many to begin with.

It's a crappy store anyway, so who cares what they do! 4951

@Marhopper2 : You never know. I'd be curious as to what the origins of the guns were that the FL shooter used 2 weeks ago. 4951

I have ever only been into their store once. Hated it.

On the bright side they may mark down the price of their current stock. Emoticon 4951

Businesses should be in the business of business, not political statements. You cannot make either side happy and someone is always going to boycott. 4951

If they sold AR’s they did it online. The Humble store does not have them behind the counter but who would buy an AR from them anyway when Academy and Carters have much better prices and selection. 4951

@PLBurr :
Agreed, but they probably weren't selling many and were not very profitable, so they use this as a marketing tool. 4951

Apples and oranges. DSG is a national chain. A small bakery owned by an individual has the right to refuse service to anyone. I bet some of them would refuse to make a gun shaped cake and that's their business, they have that right. I wouldn't care, to each their own. However I would refuse to do business with them. I wouldn't take them to court or sue them. Who cares, there are other bakeries.

And there are a lot more places to buy guns too. Dicks is a crappy store anyway so I wouldn't have bought from them even before this decision. 4951

@buffaloglenn : but on the other side, now NRA supporters or 2A supporters will boycott. They just need to stay out of it. 4951
