I see no point in driving down a beach single file, loop around and do it again. If you can't park and watch it just seems stupid.

kingwooddiscgolf : Fully agree. Since the officials cannot close the beach, their intent is to make it as onerous as possible to discourage people from attending.

Even with several hundred law enforcement officials, they cannot adequately ensure public safety.

The lives of the attendees, residents and those on the highway are at risk due to this unsanctioned/unruly event.

Hopefully those that do attend will act in a lawful manner, or find the restrictions too severe and will not come.

I owned a house there. The horrible, illegal and illicit behaviors you read about are not exaggerated. We used to go to protect our property; eventually we realized it was mot worth the risk.

More than 400 officers from 14 law enforcement agencies are patrolling the Bolivar Peninsula to enforce strict Jeep Weekend safety rules this weekend as the new Sheriff is implementing new rules for safety reasons. Sheriff Fullen shared the new safety measures on Facebook. "We look forward to seeing everybody on Jeep Weekend this year, but we also want to remind you that you need to follow the rules and obey the law," he said. This year, several restrictions will be enforced in the designated Jeep Weekend event area: - Parking on the beach is not allowed. - Loading or unloading trailers on the beach is prohibited. - Golf carts, ATVs, and dirt bikes are banned. - Mass gatherings are forbidden. - Glass containers and littering will not be tolerated. - Stay off the dunes - Drivers license required to drive on beach - Speed limit 15 mph - Animals must be on leash at all times - Bonfires prohibited - Regarding traffic, individuals are not allowed to stop, stand, or park along the beach or enter public safety zones. Heathur : Hopefully, the new rules will be followed and everyone will have fun without any violence. I don't understand why people go to the beach and drink so much they can not control their own actions.

ZMAN : They did have over 400 911 Calls from dusk till dawn, and that was just a 5-mile stretch of beach.
