I was late to the quality waffle game. I grew up not knowing any batter (yeah, I did that on purpose). In my childhood, an Eggo was a special occasion treat. It all changed about 7-8 years ago when I decided it was time to disrupt my morning routines and have an occasional breakfast before work. I still remember my first time ... like it was 5-6 years ago. It was at a JW Marriott hotel. The morning sun spilled through the window, casting a golden glow across the table where the waffle laid down in front of me. Its crisp, honeycombed surface beckoning like a lover's whispered promise. I approached, heart quickening, the faint scent of warm vanilla and butter curling toward me, seductive and familiar. My fingers grazed the edge of the plate, a shiver of anticipation racing through me as I lifted the fork, its glimmering tines glinting with purpose.The first cut was deliberate, a slow surrender of the waffle's golden crust, yielding with a soft crunch that felt like a secret shared between us. I drizzled maple syrup, watching it cascade into chambers of amber, slowly pooling in each perfect square, a sweet embrace that made my pulse flutter. The fork pierced a tender piece, and as I carried it to my lips, time seemed to pause, the world narrowing to this singular moment of connection.The warmth of the waffle met my tongue, its crisp edges melting into a soft, buttery heart, each bite a slow dance of textures and flavors. I could taste the flesh. It was sweet, rich, and achingly indulgent. The syrup lingered, a silken caress, binding us in a fleeting, decadent intimacy. My eyes closed, savoring the way it filled me, a quiet ecstasy that left me yearning for the next bite, yet reluctant to let this moment end.Each morsel was a vow, each swallow a deepening bond, until the plate lay bare, a tender ache settling in my chest. golfshot : That is KEY to a good breakfast joint! 😁 Oh that and bottomless mimosas haha. Raffas used to offer those at brunch but I think they quit. Ironically, I think it was right after I held a Bachelorette lunch there 🤣 They DEFINITELY regretted that bottomless part bahahahaha. I'm not an alcoholic for no reason! 😆😆😬

Oh my gosh it WAS the best. I worked there for years all through high school and into college. I miss their breakfasts!
