eighteen : But your comment was about county misuse of funds. That fraud and abuse has nothing to do with a city ordinance trying to clear the streets. What the county does is not under control by the city. Two completely separate entities.

This is from a HPM article from May '25.

"The funding source for Mayor John Whitmire's push to end street homelessness in Houston is about $40 million shy of its $70 million goal. The city is still looking for funds from Harris County and private philanthropy."

it has been in effect for some time, for certain areas. Now, it will be extended. The Mayor is really working on getting help for the homeless. The problem is those who do not Want help.

For the rest of us, who DO care, the County's wrongdoing cannot and should not be used against the City to negate their efforts to clean up the streets. We know the multi-level corruption, from top to bottom, at the county level. We have all seen SF, LA and NY streets and Houston is trying to stop it from getting to that level. Good for them with this new ordinance. Hopefully it will work, and they will actually enforce it.

I appreciate you putting so much faith in me knowing exactly what happened, as if I was there. I asked if anyone remembers; and, instead of being like, yes I do, or no I don't. You decided to give me a speech about the County and COH being separate entities.
