With much of the focus in 2018 being on businesses reopening in the back of Kingwood after Harvey, a cluster of stores has quietly popped up in front of the Kroger at 59 and Northpark. Some of these are doubles, others are brand new to the area, and one of them is a returning favorite.
The strip of stores in question is located at 300 Northpark Dr. It is directly south of the Kroger entrance and right next door to Culver's. Here are the businesses coming to the building in order from left to right (north to south).
1) MOD Pizza
Most of us here in Kingwood were MOD rookies until they opened a location in the HEB (Main St) center at Kingwood Dr. and WLH. MOD Pizza, a pioneer of the fast casual pizza segment, was founded in Seattle in 2008 by entrepreneurs Scott and Ally Svenson. MOD's individual artisan-style pizzas are made on demand, allowing customers to create their own pizzas and salads, using fresh-pressed dough, signature sauces and over 30 toppings...All for one price. The new location should be open within the next couple of months, and has been aptly named "MOD Pizza - Kingwood West" on their website.

2) Eye Trends
Eye Trends is not a new name to Kingwood residents. They held a location in the "old HEB" shopping center in the back for many years. However, that tenure ended when Harvey dropped 4+ ft of rain on us last year. Eye Trends was forced to close while they tried to figure out when and if they could return to Kingwood. Well, half of that question has now been answered. Eye Trends has 7 other locations throughout the greater Houston area...But by early-mid 2019, customers of theirs will no longer have to travel outside of the bubble for Eye Trend's services.

3) Salata
I used to be a little leery of a place that mainly specialized in salads. That was until I stopped in and tried the Salata at 4523 Kingwood Dr. while taking pictures for one of their grand opening announcements. Their salad bar is unmatched, both in choices and especially quality. YUM's the word now! Starting next year, you'll be able to get your Salata fix no matter which side of Kingwood you're on.
5) Kingwood Perfect Smiles
Kingwood Perfect Smiles dentist office is one of the few businesses listed here that is already open, and they're also a KDC sponsor. The man behind Kingwood Perfect Smiles is Dr. Adam J. DiVincenzo. He is a member of the American Dental Association and served as a Marine base dentist in NC for several years before eventually opening his practice here earlier this summer. 6) SUPERCUTS
Supercuts is another store that is already open in this mini shopping center...As a matter of fact, they just opened this week. With more than 2,400 no-appointment-required salons across the country, Supercuts offers consistent, quality haircuts at a moment's notice. There are other Supercuts close by in Atascocita, Humble, etc.., but this is the first one in Kingwood. They're open at 9AM Mon-Fri, 8AM Saturday and 10AM on Sunday. 7) CareNow Urgent care
CareNow Urgent Care was the first business to open at 300 Northpark Drive earlier this year. They provide convenient and quality medical care, and their highly-qualified doctors treat a range of urgent care and occupational medicine needs.
