TEXASGIRLMAMMA : Thank you!!! I'm familiar with the original 56 are the ones....those are the ones I'd like to get...the green, blue, or yellow ones, I'm not picky....they are going to go to my grand girls! Appreciate the links!!!

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : Yes, they are GRAND! GIRLS! I have 3 GGs (2 different kiddoes) so may actually buy 2 sets of ND books.
Fireba11 : That is a good idea! They will love them! I don't know how old your GGs are but, I would like to suggest The American Girl Historical Doll books. I am not familiar with the newer Historical dolls but the ones from when my kids were young were good~~~ Kirsten from 1854, Samantha from 1904, and Molly from 1944, Felicity from 1774, Addy from 1864, Kaya from 1764, Josefina from 1824, Julie Albright from 1975, Kit Kittredge 1934. These books draw girls into history and really help with a girl who does not enjoy reading. Also, I forgot about the Homeschool Store located in Houston. They have new and used books. The used books are in excellent condition and there would be many of each book for you to pick from to get the best looking one and the prices are not bad. The Homeschool Store is about a 40 minute drive but well worth it. I have listed the phone number and you can call to see if they have the series you are looking for. I bet they do! 12315 Ann Ln.

Txbutterfly : I did not see any. They had some toys, puzzles, board games and of course books but I didn't see any media. Then we hit the 'shot clock' with my son in the store and we had to leave.
TEXASGIRLMAMMA : we actually have the American doll books and original dolls in the attic from when my kids were of that age. We will be bringing those down soon and giving them to the grand girls as well. Likewise, there are over 100 Barbie dolls in a bin in the attic. They have come from different sources, mostly yard sales back in the 90s, but the small pile became a big pile and so now they are in a bin awaiting disposition.

Fireba11 : What a treasure those books will be for your granddaughters. I grew up repeatedly reading Nancy Drew and Hardy Boy books. Hopefully you find the vintage series that you prefer.

Nancy Drew Books Set - where to buy? Looking to buy Nancy Drew books but not finding a set short of bidding on ebay or traveling to places 500 miles away......any local places around KW that might have a vintage set for sale?

3 GGs (2 different kiddoes) so may actually buy 2 sets of ND books.
Fireba11 : You might consider splitting one set between the two families so that they could share the books. Not for saving money, although that could be a plus, but to encourage these cousins to share with each other and to encourage them to talk about these books among themselves. Kind of like their own little book club.
