Gingersnap : I understand. Mom drinks a lot and it can dilute your sodium. Can make some people act like they're drunk and/or completely out of it with brain fog. Too much water is just as bad as not enough. That's what causes falls and why she's in the hospital.

KanKan : That's only 33 oz of water a day. That could not be enough for your mom. I have a 30 oz bottle I fill up 3 or 4 times a day. Has the doctor told her to cut back?

KanKan : Maybe add some salt to her diet.

KanKan : To little causes my MIL to have the same symptoms.

I drink a little over a gallon of plain water every single day and about 3 cups of coffee on top of that. No juice or flavorings.

I shoot for 2.5 liters. I don't always make it, but I come close at least.

oldarn : They did that about 10 years ago. Limited to a liter and a salt tablet. This time 44 ounces, was first told a liter, but no mention of salt tablets. She has a follow up appointment this week with her regular doctors so we'll see if things change.

KanKan : That's good. I hope someone will be able to go with her and maybe they can get some answers.

I have been light headed when standing up for the past few days and heard dehydration can cause it so I but it to the test yesterday and drank 4 16oz last night. My lightheadedness went away. I am so late to drinking water but I have given up my Diet Coke.
