Ok,  I finally have enough money to at-least go in and get started on my nightmare mouth, I wont be able to get implants or anything yet but enough with my cash and my insurance I should at-least be able to get them pulled and maybe fitted. Insurance re-ups in September so can even do more then.( I may end up needing full dentures and surgery...yes that Chinese Sheetrock just totally ate through them , Last estimate I got was almost 19 grand for everything, My insurance is only 1200 a year and is for reventative mostly and a 200 deductible. I just threw my hands up and said forget it but I have got to pull the really bad ones for health soon. Im so broke its ridiculous but I don't lan on dieing over bad teeth...I refuse to go out that way...roflmaoNow many know here,  The nightmare my kid went through with " DR JAI OF CHILDREN S DENTAL CENTER"  I'm gonna dig deep and hard but who knows what I miss so any ideas/opinions before I make my final choice feel free to weigh in. I will not go to anyone who works with a corporation or private equity...MUST be a private business not linked to any corp. And they MUST have an updated CPR cert with in past 2 years and MUST have all life saving equipment within 5 feet of procedure room. Now the top two I have narrowed things down to is  http://www.kenmcmillendds.com/The_Staff.html but as far as I have researched he may out source some of his work which is a no no to me so maybe some can fill me in on if thats true. I like his background as I dig deep now....LOLand Dr. Dale Introligator which has an excellent background when you dig as deep as I do....LOLI have always had the same fear as most people do with dentist but unfortunately digging as deep as I have after what happened to my daughter and finding out that the good ones are slim pickings, My normal fear is now almost an irrational phobia...:-(....I mean in all of kingwood so far these are the only 2 I could find that even came close to my demand of what a dentist should be but of course I cant spend a year researching 200 dentist individually, in the area, so yes opinions are very much wanted...Im sure I have missed some good and some bad.

I used Creekwood dental. Absolutely loved the office and the fact that when he saw one of my bad teeth had a "s" shaped root he didn't hesitate to make me an appointment with a surgeon and not try to pull it in his office like 2 dentist before him wanted to do

I saw a commercial the other day at my dd's ortho appt for a dentist in Conroe who does $350-something each for bottom/top dentures, and $45 or something like that per extraction. $19k?? Is that to save your teeth (i.e root canals/crowns, etc.)?? That is insane.

Also thought of you last week when I saw a commercial about a class action lawsuit about the Chinese sheet rock thing....do you know about that? I had never heard about CSR before I read your posts.

Best of luck to you...everyone deserves to have a pretty smile! Just don't get screwed.

Without hesitation I would recommend Dr. Lois Cummings for any oral surgery type procedures you may need. He is beyond first class, as is his staff. Don't believe it can be done any better anywhere.

I feel for you. I just financed 1500.00 for my son's dental work and I have about 2000 more til he is done. My insurance capped at 1000 which is peanuts for dentistry. We use Susan Lunson in Humble. She is on 1960 off Townsen.  She did a crown on one of my front teeth that is flawless.  She won't be on my ins after Sept, but she's still  my go-to dentist for any work that can be seen when I smile.   Best of luck to you!

LOVE Dr. I.  He is not going to rip you off. He has to be one of the most cost effective Dentist in the area.  And he can give you a shot that will leave you wondering when he is going to give you a shot.Tell him up front you are scared and he is so calm.  His staff is amazing.  Honestly they are nicest folks I have ever been around in a Dentists office. If we ever move, I would really fly back for him to continue to treat me and my children.  They love him.  They have no fear at all about getting a cavity filled with him.  He will not do what does not need to be done either.  GIve him a shot.  I know he and his wife personally and they are just as they appear, really great people.

And renters are screwed....LOL Home owners with enough proof can get some help...its getting better but our dealings were almost 4 years ago...we were not even allowed to bust into the walls for proof and no inspectors were willing to go on the record giving positives. I called one in and I said please off the record what is going on...he said ...off the record..if it was my family.......get the hell out....YESTERDAY!Three years of breathing that crap in....for a family of 4, 56 DR and Minor ER clinic appointments, 22 er trips, one hospitalization for me and no one gave us answers...all we got was...oh season allergies, sinus infection, quit smoking...LOL(ok that advice wasn't bad but it wasn't the cause especially with kids being we smoked outside and not in the car, I have since quit)...We had air fixed first month we moved in, refrigerator went out, we lost 6 PC monitors, 8 PC and phone chargers, microwave stopped working,Lost a TV,  lost 3 dryers, 2 guinea pigs, several fish and plants, and lights flickered daily. I had 7root canals. 6 teeth pulled and several just broke and fell out. Finally the worse case of vertigo kicked in and I no longer could get out of bed. I'm diabetic and things get me faster. Plus my teen and hubby were gone all the time but even they were getting sick. Finally hubby said...I'm fine till I get home..its the house...I was like....ITS BRAND NEW?????? Then someone clued me in so I called the inspector in....we were out in a week....NIGHTMARE FROM HELL....LOL...and it seems to be the gift that keeps giving as I'm still dealing with health and teeth issues I believe is connected......:-/

I've been going to Dr. McMillen for 15 years.  I love him, and now my parents go to him as well.  I recently had some extensive dental work.  I replaced a 2 teeth partial I'd been wearing since I was 16 with dental implants.  It required 2 surgery and braces.  I went to Dr. Quentel for braces, and Dr. Gary McDonald, a maxilliofacial surgeon and DDS for the surgeries.  He has a full staff on board for his patients that need anesthesia.  I felt so comfortable in his care.   First he had to do a bone graph, let that heal for several months, then after that healed for several months, he placed the implants, then after several more months Dr. McMillen set the caps on the implants and he did an excellent job.  But for any kind of surgery where you need anesthesia, I would definitely go to McDonald.  I do not know if McMillan pulls teeth, I think he does.  I'm pretty sure he only uses a local (novocain) and does not use anesthesia.   You can get teeth pulled with only a local, you do not need anesthesia. My insurance did not pay for anything.  They considered it cosmetic.  They were happy with me having the partial.  The problem with the partial is that without a tooth in the bone, the bone deteriorates and can cause problems for healthy adjoining teeth, loosening them.  This is why I needed the bone graph, the place where I was missing teeth, the bone was very thin and fragile.  My mouth cost me $14,000.  I saved up for it for a year, but I also had the 2 years I was in braces and getting surgeries to also save and pay for it.   So basically I paid the total amount over a 3 year period.

I've been going to Dr. Csengery off of West Lake Houston Pkwy. for 9 years now & have had nothing but great experiences. I am DEATHLY terrified of the dentist after a terrible experience at 7, but I've always felt comfortable & in good hands with him. He specializes in dental reconstruction & did my veneers & a crown, & my veneers weren't just regular veneers. I had to have oral surgery because my mouth was really impacted. Had 8 teeth removed & 2 extracted from up in my sinus cavity that had never come down- all 10 removed surgically. Then a crown. Because I had all of my canine teeth pulled, he had to create veneer bridge's for the gaps, blah blah blah. I could go on & on but he gave me a gorgeous smile for the price that some braces cost. $8k for all that work which seems like a lot but considering ALL of the work that was done, it was a great price & I couldn't be happier. http://www.allnewsmile.com/

@brightlights: when we had a building boom and all the hurricanes, we had a sheetrock shortage so our government allowed millions of slabs of un inspected Sheetrock in from china. Most of it was made from their mines...even fecal matter was found in some. Its basically made from the same substance of gas that they used in concentration camps. It releases in humidity. So take in account how so many new homes were built air tight and add in our humidity and boom...basically people are living in slow release gas chambers. It rots out all copper wiring and Government will not admit its basically killing some people. The homes its most likely found in are built between 2001 and 2009 but traces have been found between 1999-2011 Since Sheetrock is shipped to homes in crates you may end up with 1 slab only or the whole home..one reason its hard to test,,,test one spot may come back negative.Signs:Tarnished silver or copper, units and appliance going out at fast rate, sinus issue, bloody noses, vertigo, black suet(sp?) on wiring, disoriented thinking, vision issues, small animals passing on sooner than normal, teeth issues as if you had fillings or caps made out of silver and excessive enamel loss. Smell of rotten eggs or burnt matches.

That's nuts. Seems like someone should have some accountability.
