No, young people will not remember. History will wipe that out of the books,
Second Baptist will tell you traditional service is at 9 but mostly new modern songs.
Gone are the hymns of faith. Of the top 25 Christmas songs, our hymns came in at # 18 silent night etc to #25. Tradition creeps to modern. Salem Lutheran in Tomball did very well having many hymns for Christmas eve eve. Lamb of God Lutheran in Humble had organ music but saw no organ but had holy communion with the candelight service.
So when will the church have a real traditional service once a week? Appreciate the great cathedrals with the massive organs shown on this site recently. Awe inspiring.
Classical greats will hopefully remain great options for music lovers. Pray we have enough leaders to have hymn sings once a Month that are real hymn sings and that young people learn the hymns of faith, never to be forgotten. Need more traditional services and less woke modern stuff.

I agree with you 150%. When I was younger, I was extremely active in the church. You name it. I did it. From youth choir to adult choir. From accolyte to vbs and camp crusader. I was in youth groups, both high school and single adult before I married. And even a singles fellowship and Bible study after my divorce. But it's just as if some churches have forgotten principles.
KBubbl3r : Since Kirk's death there has been a phenomenal upsurge in attending church among young adults, especially high school and college. This is encouraging. All Kirk sought to do was have a conversation, bring us closer together as a nation, he answered all questions thrown at him thoughtfully and respectfully. Such a loss. He did not die in vain.
KBubbl3r : What you don't realize is churches are trying to keep people coming, and it's a struggle. And it's expensive. People change. Youth have changed. The WORLD has changed and if they don't change with it, people don't come.
icare : Are you active in your church? Being there and being active are 2 different things. If you go to church to see what it can do for you instead of what you can do for the church, rethink it.
I miss the traditional songs also, but times change, if the church catered only to the older people it will die off with those people. We live eternally in heaven,not here on earth.
icare : I hear what you are saying and I agree somewhat. My grandmother was a Baptist and married a Catholic. I grew up in a Catholic Church, sang in the choir. Was in the All Connecticut State Choir where we sang beautiful traditional hymns. But I also grew up singing Baptist hymns with my grandmother. Fast forward to today, I am attending a Baptist church. Most weekends we lift up our voices with contemporary songs. The joy of it can sometimes bring me to tears! On other Sundays our musical leader choose to lead us in the old traditional songs I learned from my grandmother. That too can bring me to tears! I think our children are being raised to know it all and the music of today will be their children's old memories.

icare : I love many of the old hymns. However, alot of the Contemporary Christian songs and musicians are very, very good.
